PETALING JAYA, 26th February 2024 – WTC Automotif (M) Sdn Bhd (“WTCA”), the sole and exclusive distributor of GAC vehicles in Malaysia, today held a signing ceremony with 9 new dealerships at the GAC Motor Malaysia flagship showroom, located in Section 13 Petaling Jaya. This dealerships appointment was part of WTCA’s strategy to strengthen its presence in Malaysia’s automotive industry while bringing the automotive excellence to the local market. On August 25th, GAC Group released its 2023 semi-annual report, showing a total operating revenue of 233.532 billion yuan in the first half of the year. According to China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, from January to June, China exported a total of 2.14 million vehicles, overtaking Japan as the biggest exporter of cars. On May 11th, GAC MOTOR announced the launch of the CKD project in partnership with WTC Automotif (M) Sdn Bhd (WTCA), the sole and exclusive distributor of GAC vehicles in Malaysia. The project, which will receive an investment of over RM 60 million, is part of GAC MOTOR and WTCA’s long-term strategy to support and expand its presence in the Malaysian market. Part of the investment will be used to upgrade production lines and facilities to commence the assembly of GAC vehicles in Malaysia – including the All New GS3 EMZOOM, which is set to roll off production lines as the first locally assembled GAC MOTOR model in April 2024. The last 12 months have seen significant steps forward for GAC MOTOR, with operations expanding around the world to reach a 59% annual increase in wholesale sales. The 2023 GAC MOTOR International Distributor Conference, themed “Going Forward with Tech & Craftsmanship”, was held in Guangzhou on April 21st, bringing together GAC Group’s global partners to look back on achievements and explore what lies ahead in the future.
