Sepang, 12 June 2026 – WTC Automotif (M) Sdn Bhd (WTCA), the official distributor of GAC Motor in Malaysia, recently brought the GAC GS3 EMZOOM to Sepang International Circuit for an exclusive defensive driving experience, culminating in an impressive 2-minute 57-second hot lap demonstration that showcased the SUV’s sporty driving character, dynamic handling, and turbocharged performance under demanding track conditions.
Supporting the event was Continental, the official tyre partner for the programme. As a premium tyre brand rooted in German engineering, Continental shares GAC’s commitment to performance, safety, and driving confidence, making it a natural partner for the EMZOOM Defensive Drive experience.
The event follows the recent launch of the refreshed GS3 EMZOOM in Malaysia, which introduced updated exterior styling enhancements while maintaining the model’s sporty turbocharged performance and driver-focused character.
Held under the campaign theme “Built To Outdrive,” the Sepang experience gathered Malaysian media and GAC dealers for a full-day driving programme focused on demonstrating the core sporty performance attributes that continue to define the EMZOOM within the competitive B-Segment SUV segment.
Powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine producing 177PS and 270Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed Wet Dual Clutch Transmission, the EMZOOM continues to deliver strong acceleration (0-100km/h in 8 seconds with top speed of 190km/h), agile handling, and confident driving dynamics for both everyday driving and spirited driving situations.
Throughout the event, the participants experienced a series of specially curated driving modules designed to demonstrate the EMZOOM’s steering precision, braking stability, directional control, and overall chassis balance under different driving scenarios.
The slalom challenge highlighted the SUV’s agility and composure through quick directional transitions, while the emergency braking and avoidance exercise demonstrated braking confidence and vehicle stability during sudden manoeuvres. Participants also experienced handling and lane-change exercises to further explore the EMZOOM’s dynamic handling balance and electronic stability control activation.
To complete the experience, participants enjoyed controlled convoy laps around the Sepang circuit to further experience the EMZOOM’s high-speed stability and overall driving confidence at the ASEAN’s most recognised racing circuit.
One of the standout moments of the programme was a hot lap demonstration conducted by a professional racing instructor, who piloted the GS3 EMZOOM around the 5.543km Sepang International Circuit in an impressive 2 minutes and 57 seconds. Achieving a sub-3-minute lap around Malaysia’s premier racing venue highlighted the SUV’s balance of turbocharged performance, agile handling, high-speed stability, and driver confidence. Through Sepang’s demanding combination of long straights and technical corners, the EMZOOM demonstrated remarkable composure, precise steering response, and dynamic capability, reinforcing the sporty DNA that defines the model.
According to Loh Ling Howe, Chief Operating Officer of WTCA, the event was created to allow participants to experience first-hand the driving characteristics that continue to define the EMZOOM beyond conventional product presentations.

From the driving modules to the impressive 2-minute 57-second hot lap demonstration, the experience showcased the dynamic capabilities that continue to make the EMZOOM one of the more engaging and driver-focused SUVs within its segment,” he said.
The recent refreshed GS3 EMZOOM continues to retain the same proven turbocharged performance and driving dynamics, while introducing updated exterior styling enhancements that further sharpen its sporty appearance.
Beyond its sporty performance character, the EMZOOM also continues to offer everyday practicality with features such as a dual-screen digital cockpit, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera system, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and Full Automatic Parking Assist (FAPA).
