Shah Alam, 19 July 2025 – GAC Malaysia made a striking presence today at the Premium Auto Car Expo (PACE) 2025, held at the Setia City Convention Centre from 19–20 July. WTC Automotif (M) Sdn Bhd (“WTCA”), the official distributor of GAC in Malaysia, unveiled an exciting lineup that included the first-ever public preview of the all-new GAC EMKOO (CKD), a future styled SUV poised to enter the local CKD market, alongside the GAC M8 (CBU), Malaysia’s first premium plug-in hybrid (PHEV) MPV. Both models drew significant attention from visitors eager to explore GAC’s latest innovations in design, performance, and electrification.

The EMKOO, GAC’s second locally assembled CKD model, made its first public appearance at the event, where its estimated price range was also revealed for the first time. The Premium variant is expected to start from RM120,000, while the Premium Pro is estimated from RM130,000. This future styled SUV is powered by a 1.5TGDI engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, offering excellent fuel efficiency of 6.6L/100km. The interior features a dual-screen cockpit with a 10.25-inch LCD digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch Multifunctional Touch Screen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The EMKOO also integrates Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including the brand’s Full Automatic Parking Assist (FAPA) function. Test drives are being conducted throughout the two-day expo to provide the public with a hands-on preview.

Also presented is the GAC M8, Malaysia’s first premium plug-in hybrid MPV, available for booking in both Premium and Luxury variants, priced at an estimated RM333,000 and RM380,000 respectively. It features a 2.0L turbocharged engine combined with a dedicated hybrid transmission and delivers a total driving range of up to 1,038km. Designed with comfort and safety in mind, the M8 includes reclining captain seats with One-Touch SPA function, a Yamaha premium sound system, and GAC’s patented 360-degree airbag system, a pioneering feature that includes the world’s first rear windscreen airbag, a safety innovation unique to GAC. This system offers added protection for third row passengers and remains unmatched by any other vehicle in its class. Test drives for the M8 are also available on site.

In addition to showcasing its upcoming models, GAC Malaysia continues to offer attractive deals on its current models. The GS3 EMZOOM now comes with monthly instalments starting from RM990, along with a five-year or 150,000km vehicle warranty, and an extended seven-year or 180,000km warranty on the engine and powertrain, whichever comes first. Meanwhile, the all-electric AION Y Plus is being offered from RM95,800 and includes a complimentary portable charger. With up to 490km NEDC-tested range, it is backed by an eight-year or 160,000km vehicle warranty and an eight-year or 200,000km warranty on its battery, motor, and electronics, whichever comes first.
